Cable Beach Wedding Officiant

Cable Beach is Nassau’s most famous stretch of white sand — the Bahamian Riviera. Home to Nuptial Beach, the entire Baha Mar resort complex, Goldwynn, Sandals Royal Bahamian, and miles of open Crown-land beach accessible to every couple. Glenn Ferguson is a Licensed Bahamas Marriage Officer and WPIC-Certified Wedding Planner who has officiated on Cable Beach for 24+ years. His semi-private Nuptial Beach near Orange Hill is the most requested Cable Beach setting for couples who want the beach without the resort crowds.

Key fact: All Bahamas beaches are Crown land and legally public. You do not need to stay at or book a resort for a legal Cable Beach ceremony. Glenn’s Nuptial Beach is available through his service with no resort fees, no event packages, and significantly less foot traffic than the Baha Mar or Sandals sections.

About Cable Beach

Nassau’s Most Famous Wedding Beach

Cable Beach runs along the north shore of Nassau from the Baha Mar resort complex in the east to Orange Hill Beach in the west — several miles of white sand and turquoise water that makes Nassau one of the most accessible beach wedding destinations in the Caribbean. The beach is home to Nassau’s most celebrated resorts, but large sections remain open public beach. The entire length is legally accessible to any couple for a ceremony.

Why Cable Beach is Nassau’s Premier Wedding Beach

  • Nassau’s longest stretch of white sand — miles of beach
  • Turquoise water at its clearest on Nassau’s north shore
  • 15 minutes from the airport — easiest Nassau beach to reach
  • All beaches are Crown land — no permit needed for small ceremonies
  • Nuptial Beach — Glenn’s semi-private setting, no resort fees
  • Baha Mar, Goldwynn & Sandals for resort-based ceremonies
  • Year-round sunshine — peak season November through April
  • 24+ years of Cable Beach ceremony experience
  • Glenn provides witnesses at no charge for elopements
  • Legal ceremony valid in USA, UK, Canada & worldwide
Where to Get Married on Cable Beach

Cable Beach Wedding Settings

Cable Beach offers more distinct ceremony settings than any other Nassau beach. From Glenn’s semi-private Nuptial Beach to the most luxurious resort frontages in the Bahamas, the right setting depends on your vision, guest count, and budget.

Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Beach

The largest Baha Mar beach frontage with capacity for larger wedding parties. Glenn officiates independently of the resort event team. Well suited to ceremonies of 25 to 100+ guests combined with resort dinner receptions.

Goldwynn Resort Beachfront

Boutique luxury on Cable Beach — 81 rooms, infinity pool backdrop, the quietest Cable Beach resort frontage. Glenn works independently. The most intimate resort beach setting on Cable Beach.

Sandals Royal Bahamian

Adults-only, all-inclusive resort on Cable Beach with an offshore private island. Glenn can officiate for couples staying at Sandals who want an independent ceremony rather than Sandals’ own wedding package. Couples-only setting.

Open Cable Beach

The sections of Cable Beach west of the Baha Mar complex that remain open public beach. No resort fees, no event packages, no crowd management. Glenn positions the ceremony on the clearest, most photogenic section of open beach for your date and time.

“I have officiated on Cable Beach for 24 years and the question I get most often is: do we need to stay at Baha Mar to get married on Cable Beach? The answer is no. Every beach in the Bahamas is Crown land — legally public. Nuptial Beach near Orange Hill is where I do the majority of my Cable Beach ceremonies. It is quieter than the Baha Mar stretch, has better light in the afternoon, and there are no resort events competing for space on the same day. For couples who are staying at Baha Mar or Goldwynn and want me as their officiant rather than the resort’s event team, I work alongside any resort team and handle the legal side independently. Cable Beach is the most convenient Nassau wedding beach — 15 minutes from the airport, multiple accommodation options nearby, and one of the most beautiful natural backdrops in the Caribbean.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Cable Beach Wedding — Your Questions Answered

Yes. A legal wedding on Cable Beach is fully valid under Bahamian law and recognised in the USA, UK, Canada, and most countries. All Bahamas beaches are Crown land — legally public. All that is required is a marriage licence ($100), an affidavit of single status ($95), a Licensed Bahamas Marriage Officer, and two adult witnesses. Glenn Ferguson has officiated on Cable Beach for 24+ years.
Nuptial Beach is Glenn Ferguson’s semi-private beach near Orange Hill at the western end of Cable Beach. It has significantly less foot traffic than the resort sections of Cable Beach and is available exclusively through Glenn’s service. No resort fees, no venue hire, no event packages — just the beach, the ceremony, and the people who matter. It is Glenn’s most-requested Nassau ceremony setting and accounts for the majority of his Cable Beach elopements.
Nuptial Beach near Orange Hill (most popular — semi-private, no resort fees, Glenn’s exclusive setting); Rosewood Baha Mar beach (most exclusive resort frontage); Grand Hyatt Baha Mar (largest resort beach); Goldwynn Resort beachfront (most intimate resort setting); Sandals Royal Bahamian (adults-only with offshore island option); and open public beach west of Baha Mar. WhatsApp Glenn for a recommendation based on your vision and guest count.
No. All Bahamas beaches are Crown land and legally open to everyone. Couples can hold a legal ceremony on Cable Beach without staying at or booking any resort. Glenn’s Nuptial Beach is available through his service with no resort connection. For a ceremony on a resort’s private beach frontage (Baha Mar, Goldwynn, Sandals), staying at that resort is typically required — but Glenn works independently of all resort event teams.
Glenn’s elopement package at Nuptial Beach starts at $1,495 plus government fees ($215: $100 licence + $95 affidavit + $20 certificate) — minimum all-in approximately $1,710. His ceremony package starts at $2,495 plus the same government fees ($2,710 all-in). Apostille adds $120 if needed. There are no resort venue fees for Nuptial Beach. WhatsApp Glenn for a full quote.
Cable Beach runs along the north shore of Nassau, New Providence — approximately 15 minutes west of Lynden Pindling International Airport and 15 minutes west of downtown Nassau. The Baha Mar complex (Grand Hyatt, Rosewood, SLS) occupies the eastern end. Goldwynn Resort sits between Baha Mar and the open beach sections. Nuptial Beach is at the western end near Orange Hill, beyond the main resort cluster.
Yes. A legal Cable Beach wedding performed by Glenn Ferguson is recognised in the USA, UK, Canada, and most countries worldwide. The Bahamas is a Hague Convention signatory so the marriage certificate can be apostilled ($120 government fee) for full international legal standing. Glenn handles apostille processing in Nassau and ships internationally after the ceremony. See the apostille guide for details.
Late afternoon between 4:00 and 6:00 PM is the most popular time — golden hour light, cooler temperatures, and the best photography conditions on the beach. Morning ceremonies (8:00 to 10:00 AM) are excellent at Nuptial Beach for maximum quiet. Peak season November through April is driest. Glenn advises on optimal timing for your specific setting and date.
Yes. Glenn officiates vow renewals on Cable Beach with no licence, no government fees, and no paperwork. Nuptial Beach is his most-requested vow renewal setting — same-day ceremonies possible as soon as you arrive in Nassau. Packages from $1,495. See the vow renewal page.
