Bahamas Destination Wedding Covid-19 Updates - We Are Opening

Welcome to another Bahamas Destination wedding update with Glenn Ferguson. Today we are announcing the reopening of The Bahamas.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation, along with the Tourism Readiness and Recovery Committee, a group comprised of public and private sector partners, announced on Tuesday June 2 a collaborative plan for re-opening the country’s borders and tourism sector, as well as the resumption of international commercial travel starting July 1st.

Boaters, yachters and private pilots will be allowed to travel to The Bahamas as of June 15, This will mark the beginning of the phased reopening of the tourism sector.

Additionally, commercial airlines will be allowed to bring in Bahamians, permanent residents and home owners, along with their family members.

Phase two of the plan, which will begin on July 1, calls for the full resumption of commercial airlines, both international and domestic; the reopening of hotels and vacation rentals, including Airbnb and Home Away; as well as the resumption of public transportation ranging from taxis, jitneys and buses.

This is great news as the demand for travel to The Bahamas during this lockdown is increasing.
